Trickle Up empowers women living in extreme poverty by providing them with the necessary resources to build sustainable livelihoods for a better quality of life. I have a confession to make. When I got involved with Trickle Up, I knew nothing about microfinance, about microenterprise, about the difference between the two, about poverty alleviation. Basically, I knew nothing about Trickle Up. Oops. In the summer of 2009, I was looking for an “extracurricular project” because I had been at my full-time job doing fundraising and special events at a performing arts nonprofit for a couple of years. Advocacy Committee: Plans educational panels focusing on microenterprise and Trickle Up. Scouts and identifies appropriate advocacy and informational events in which the organization might participate.

Fundraising Committee: Plans fundraising events and devises other creative and unique fundraising strategies.

Outreach Committee: Publicizes YPC initiatives, plans membership outreach and networking events, and helps to grow the YPC network through strategic partnerships.


Commitment Committee Co-Chairs will meet with the YPC Steering Committee approximately once a month and will plan 2-3 events per year with the help of a fellow Co-Chair and committee.

How to Apply:  Send your resume and 1-2 paragraphs describing your interest in the position and any ideas for the upcoming year to the YPC Co-Chairs, Ahmed Deria & Christian Sanchez, at ypc@trickleup.org. Please clarify which committee(s) you are applying for. If you are applying to more than one, let us know which is your first, second and/or third choice.

Deadline: Please submit all applications before the end of the day on Friday, July 22, 2011.

Trickle Up is seeking volunteer interpreters for a 5-day training on our new online accounting system (cloud based). This training is for finance staff based in Trickle Up’s field offices in Mali, Guatemala, and India, who will be attending the training held at Trickle Up’s headquarters in New York.

The training will be conducted from July 18-22, and we will require live oral translation between English and French, and English and Spanish. We are seeking individuals who are comfortable with finance/accounting vocabulary in both English and French, or English and Spanish, and enjoy working in a multicultural environment.

To apply: Email a cover letter and a resume demonstrating your language ability and any relevant experience to daynellew@trickleup.org subject line “French/ Spanish Interpreter”.  Please include your availability in your cover letter - days and hours (9am-5pm) – between July 18-22. Deadline to submit application is July 8th.
